Audit & Accounts Manager – Business Services Group

About the role

We are supporting a leading accountancy practice in Chichester that needs a Business Services Group Manager to lead a mixed audit and non‑audit portfolio. The role combines client‑facing audit work, statutory accounts preparation and advisory support, primarily for charities and not‑for‑profit organisations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead audit assignments from planning through completion, ensuring high technical standards and timely delivery.
• Prepare and review statutory accounts and independent examinations for charity and not‑for‑profit clients.
• Manage a diverse client portfolio, acting as the primary point of contact and maintaining strong relationships.
• Supervise, mentor and develop junior staff, providing training, feedback and workload planning.
• Oversee engagement budgets, timelines and operational process improvements.
• Support business development initiatives and identify opportunities to expand service lines.

Required profile

• Fully qualified ACA or ACCA with proven audit experience, especially in the charity sector.
• Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and lead audit engagements.
• Experience in non‑audit advisory or compliance work is desirable.
• Strong organisational, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Experience supervising or training junior staff and readiness for a managerial role.

What we offer

• Competitive salary between £50,000 and £60,000 per year, dependent on experience.
• 25 days of annual leave plus additional holidays.
