Audit Lead – Europe & America

About the role

The Audit Lead, Europe & America provides independent third‑line assurance across ANZ's Institutional portfolio (excluding Markets). Reporting to the Head of Audit, Europe & America, the role ensures governance, risk management and control effectiveness are rigorously evaluated.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Head of Audit, Europe & America in maintaining an up‑to‑date assessment of the risk and control environment for the portfolio.
• Lead or contribute to audit engagements across Institutional end‑to‑end customer value chains, delivering assurance aligned with the approved Internal Audit plan.
• Manage audit delivery to agreed timelines and budgets, providing discipline as audit team lead or as a contributing team member.
• Identify and scope audit work focusing on material risks and customer outcomes, applying sound risk judgement and methodology.
• Apply relevant risk management frameworks, including the Non‑Financial Risk Framework, to support risk analysis, testing and conclusions.
• Support issue follow‑up and validation readiness.

Required profile

• Significant experience in internal audit within banking or financial services, preferably covering Institutional portfolios.
• Strong understanding of governance, risk management and control environments.
• Proven ability to lead audit teams and collaborate with business stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical and judgment skills, with experience applying audit methodologies and global standards.
