Audit Senior Associate

About the role

We are partnering with a dynamic accountancy and advisory firm in Manchester City Centre to strengthen their audit team. The role offers the chance to lead audits from planning through to completion while developing client relationships and mentoring junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Lead audits end‑to‑end, including planning, fieldwork and final reporting.
• Prepare accounts, reports and other client deliverables in line with UK standards.
• Coordinate audit planning with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Supervise on‑site audit teams, ensuring quality, budget and deadline adherence.
• Identify audit risks and know when to escalate issues.
• Drive business development by promoting the firm’s services.
• Mentor and develop trainees and junior team members.

Required profile

• ACA / ACCA / CA (or equivalent international qualification), qualified or part‑qualified.
• Approximately 2 years of recent audit and assurance experience in practice.
• Experience leading audits under International Standards on Auditing (ISA).
• Strong communication skills and confidence liaising with senior staff and clients.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Required skills

• Proficiency with UK GAAP.
• Knowledge of ISA audit standards.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Word.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel.
• General competence with Microsoft Office suite.
