About the role
The Bank Staff Nurse position provides nursing care within a prison setting in Magilligan. Working for the South Eastern Health and Social Care Trust (SEHSCT), you will deliver safe, high‑quality healthcare to incarcerated individuals while adhering to NHS standards.
Key responsibilities
- Assess, plan and deliver nursing care to prisoners, including health assessments and ongoing monitoring.
- Administer medication, perform wound care, and manage chronic conditions.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including doctors, mental health professionals and security staff.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Participate in health promotion and disease prevention initiatives within the facility.
Required profile
- Registered Nurse (NMC‑registered) eligible to practice in the United Kingdom.
- Experience working in acute or community settings; experience in secure environments is desirable.
- Ability to work flexibly, including part‑time or bank‑type arrangements.
- Strong communication skills and the capacity to work with a diverse inmate population.
