Biogas Day Shift Operator

About the role

The Biogas Day Shift Operator will work on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract at a leading renewable energy site in Dufftown. Reporting to the Process Team Leader, you will help run an anaerobic digestion plant, ensuring safe and efficient production of biogas.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the anaerobic digestion plant and associated equipment using SCADA and manual inputs.
• Conduct daily plant walk‑arounds, take meter readings and assess equipment condition.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks and log findings in the CMMS.
• Carry out basic laboratory testing of process samples.
• Operate mobile plant equipment such as a telehandler or forklift truck.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and monitor the plant remotely once trained.
• Undertake any additional duties as required by the Process Team Leader.

Required profile

• Minimum NC level in a related engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical, chemical) or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in an operations/process operator role.
• Full UK driving licence (essential).
• Experience working in a heavy processing environment.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented setting.
