Biology Teacher – Secondary School (KS3‑4) – Ashford, Surrey

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking a passionate Biology Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Ashford, Surrey, starting September 2026. The role involves delivering engaging biology lessons to Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching Key Stage 5 for suitably experienced candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver high‑quality biology lessons in line with the national curriculum.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback.
• Create an inclusive, stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity.
• Collaborate with the wider Science department to share best practices.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to departmental planning.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Proven experience teaching biology in a UK secondary school.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management abilities.
• Commitment to raising student attainment and inspiring young people.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Right to work in the UK.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the UK secondary biology curriculum (KS3‑4, optional KS5).
• Lesson planning and assessment expertise.
• Effective communication and feedback techniques.
