Biology Technician

About the role

LEX is developing ultra‑fast PCR diagnostics for point‑of‑care testing. As a Biology Technician you will ensure the laboratory, its systems, reagents and workflows run smoothly, supporting scientists to accelerate diagnostic innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient biology laboratory environment.
• Manage consumables and reagents: ordering, stock control, inventory tracking and record‑keeping.
• Receive deliveries and keep accurate stock system records.
• Organise and maintain freezers for viral and bacterial storage materials.
• Perform laboratory cleaning and contamination monitoring in line with company procedures.
• Support scientists with routine tasks such as reagent preparation, lyophilisation assistance and experimental setup.
• Assist with installation, setup and training on new laboratory equipment.
• Maintain accurate records in the electronic Quality Management System (eQMS).
• Contribute to continuous improvement of laboratory processes towards ISO 13485 compliance.

• Experience working in a fast‑paced laboratory environment.

Required skills

• Bachelor’s degree in a biology‑related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Hands‑on experience with PCR techniques.
• Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
• Familiarity with ISO 13485 or GMP standards.
• Experience with electronic Quality Management Systems (eQMS).
• Laboratory health and safety expertise.
