About the role

We are partnering with a highly creative product design and engineering consultancy that turns early‑stage ideas into fully engineered, manufacturable products. The Business Development Manager will own new‑business generation in a fast‑paced, design‑led environment where engineering, innovation and commercial thinking intersect.

Key responsibilities

  • Identify and target new business opportunities across relevant industries.
  • Generate leads through LinkedIn, networking, digital outreach and direct engagement.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified prospects.
  • Engage senior decision‑makers and influence early‑stage commercial discussions.
  • Qualify inbound and outbound leads, translate client needs into commercial opportunities, and support proposal creation.
  • Develop trusted relationships with prospective and existing clients, acting as the first point of contact for new enquiries.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to refine go‑to‑market strategy, provide market insight and improve conversion rates.
  • Progressively take ownership of proposal development and client presentations.

Required profile

  • Proven experience in business development, sales or client acquisition.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to identify and convert opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • Confidence engaging senior stakeholders and decision‑makers.
  • Proactive, self‑motivated and results‑driven mindset.
  • Ability to quickly understand technical or service‑led offerings.
  • Desirable experience in engineering, design consultancy or technical services.
