Chief Finance & Operations Officer – International Charity (Remote)

About the role

The organisation is seeking a senior finance and operations leader to oversee financial governance, budgeting and operational delivery across a global charitable network. This executive position combines traditional CFO duties with operational oversight, ensuring the charity runs efficiently in multiple jurisdictions while supporting its mission‑driven programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial governance across multiple international entities.
• Own budgeting, financial planning and funding allocation for global programmes.
• Manage donor funding, grants and sponsorship income in line with programme delivery.
• Oversee global operations where finance, administration and programme delivery intersect.
• Control cash flow, payments and financial controls across several jurisdictions.
• Ensure compliance with AML, GDPR and other international financial regulations.
• Drive continuous improvement of finance, reporting, systems and operational processes.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a CFO, Finance Director or equivalent senior finance leader.
• Proven track record working within charities, NGOs or international non‑profits.
• Deep knowledge of donor funding, grants, restricted funding and programme‑based financial management.
• Experience leading finance across multiple countries and regulatory environments.
• Strong understanding of charity governance, compliance and regulatory requirements.
• Ability to work closely with Boards, Trustees, Executive Teams and external stakeholders.
