Chief Pharmacist & Health System Leader

About the role

NHS Scotland is looking for a senior leader to provide strategic direction and oversight of pharmacy services across its Trust in Glasgow. The role combines executive leadership with hands‑on management of pharmaceutical care, ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and innovative services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for all pharmacy services within the NHS Trust.
• Oversee the delivery of pharmaceutical care, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Advise the Board on pharmacy strategy, performance, and innovation.
• Drive service improvements and implement innovative solutions.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align pharmacy initiatives with broader health system goals.
• Inspire, develop, and lead multidisciplinary pharmacy teams.

Required profile

• Extensive experience managing pharmaceutical care services in a large health organization.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate teams at senior level.
• Strong collaborative skills with a track record of stakeholder engagement.
• Strategic thinking with a focus on service efficiency and innovation.
