Civil Design Engineer

About the role

The Civil Design Engineer will play a key part in delivering sustainable, technically excellent and commercially successful engineering solutions for a variety of master‑planning and infrastructure projects within the UK practice.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design for master‑planning projects across regeneration, aviation, infrastructure and industrial sectors.
• Deliver flood‑risk assessments, drainage strategies and sustainable urban‑design solutions.
• Motivate project teams to produce optimized and ethical designs.
• Support tenders, bids, fee proposals and financial forecasting.
• Assist with project financial management, cost control, invoicing and resource planning.
• Mentor and supervise graduate engineers, fostering their development.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and CDM 2015 health & safety policies.
• Contribute to business‑development activities, client relationship building and marketing efforts.
• Liaise with clients to understand evolving requirements and manage external supplier procurement.

Required profile

• Qualified civil engineer with experience delivering design for infrastructure and master‑planning projects.
• Proven ability to lead design teams and mentor junior engineers.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and CDM 2015 compliance requirements.
• Strong communication skills for client interaction and business development.
