About the role
As a CNC Setter Operator on the night shift, you will set up and run CNC machines to produce high‑precision components for engineering and manufacturing projects. Your work ensures smooth production flow and maintains the quality standards required by our high‑precision environment.
Key responsibilities
- Set up and operate any CNC machine, including multi‑axis (5+) equipment, to meet daily production targets.
- Read and interpret G‑code and M‑code programs supplied by the Applications department, spotting potential issues before machining.
- Interpret engineering drawings and translate them into accurate machining actions.
- Monitor machine performance, perform minor adjustments, and ensure consistent product quality.
- Collaborate with the production team to maintain a safe and efficient night‑shift operation.
Required profile
- Apprentice‑trained with 3‑4 years post‑apprenticeship experience, or 8+ years of relevant CNC setting experience.
- Proven ability to read G‑code/M‑code and understand CNC program logic.
- Strong technical aptitude with a solid grasp of machining processes and material properties.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to high‑quality output.

What we offer
- Salary £50,096 – £53,739 per year, dependent on experience.
- Night‑shift pattern: Monday‑Thursday 20:45‑06:00 (30‑minute unpaid break).
- 33 days holiday (25 annual leave + 8 statutory).
