Commercial Buyer & Supplier Relationship Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Buyer who will act as a strategic partner to our key suppliers, driving purchasing decisions that improve margins and support business growth. This role sits at the heart of our interiors, flooring and construction supply business, working closely with operations, finance, sales and senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and manufacturing partners.
• Negotiate pricing, rebates, payment terms, settlement discounts and commercial agreements.
• Lead supplier reviews, drive improvements in service, availability and performance, and manage escalations.
• Challenge cost increases, identify margin‑enhancing opportunities and monitor supplier KPIs such as lead times and reliability.
• Manage product categories and purchasing activity across multiple channels, ensuring ranges meet customer demand and commercial objectives.
• Identify new product opportunities, supplier innovation and range improvements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in purchasing within flooring, interiors, construction supply, builders’ merchants or a similar sector.
• Demonstrated ability to build and sustain strategic supplier relationships.
• Strong commercial negotiation skills and a track record of improving margins.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and influence purchasing strategy.
