Commercial Finance Manager – Hybrid – Manchester

About the role

This is a senior Commercial Finance Manager position within a leading international law firm. Working from Manchester on a hybrid basis, you will act as a trusted commercial adviser to partners and senior leaders, shaping pricing strategy and driving profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with practice groups, partners and senior leadership to improve commercial performance.
• Lead pricing strategy for client pitches, tenders, panel appointments and strategic opportunities.
• Develop sophisticated financial models, profitability analyses and business cases.
• Provide actionable commercial insight and recommendations to support decision‑making.
• Challenge and influence senior stakeholders to enhance pricing discipline and financial outcomes.
• Deliver training on pricing, profitability and commercial best practice.
• Support strategic projects and transformation initiatives across the firm.
• Mentor and develop junior finance team members.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Commercial Finance Manager within a UK law firm.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and ability to influence senior partners.
• Strong understanding of legal sector economics, profitability drivers and pricing methodologies.
• Advanced financial modelling and commercial analysis capabilities.
• Confidence to challenge senior decision‑makers and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced professional services environment.
