Contract Manager – Housing Association (London)

About the role

Positive Employment is seeking a Contract Manager for a housing association in London. The role will lead the operational management and governance of a diverse portfolio of service contracts, ensuring that contractual commitments translate into high‑quality service delivery. It is a six‑month temporary position with the possibility of extension and hybrid working.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive contract management framework covering operational contracts and service level agreements.
• Translate contractual obligations into effective day‑to‑day operational delivery.
• Establish governance and assurance processes to monitor performance, compliance and risk.
• Provide expert advice on contract management to internal stakeholders and service teams.
• Monitor contractor performance against KPIs, service standards and contractual requirements.
• Conduct contract audits, performance reviews and ensure compliance with legislation and organisational policies.
• Identify and mitigate contractual, operational and commercial risks, implementing corrective actions where needed.
• Manage contract variations, change control processes and contractual amendments.
• Build strong relationships with contractors, service providers, local authorities and internal teams.
• Produce reports and recommendations for senior management and governance boards.

Required profile

• Significant experience in contract management, preferably within a housing or public sector environment.
• Strong understanding of service level agreements, KPIs and performance monitoring.
• Proven ability to manage risk, conduct audits and drive continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
