Contracts Manager

About the role

Join Trant Engineering as a Contracts Manager responsible for commercial and contractual management of multiple engineering projects, ensuring delivery within budget, on time, and in line with contractual obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage contract and commercial performance across projects, ensuring compliance with NEC 4 and other contract terms.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, transmission operators, EPC partners and subcontractors.
• Monitor and report on project performance metrics including cost, schedule, safety and carbon impact.
• Champion safety, health, environmental, quality and compliance standards on site.
• Act as primary point of contact for contractual matters, resolve disputes and support audits.

Required profile

• NVQ/HND/HNC in Engineering, Construction, Commercial Management or related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of UK construction and engineering contract law (NEC, JCT, FIDIC).
• Proven experience managing multiple contracts in water, energy or infrastructure projects.
• Experience negotiating, drafting and administering contracts, including variations and claims.

Required skills

• NEC 4 contract management
• SMSTS certification
• PRINCE2 or APM project management qualification
• Knowledge of JCT and FIDIC contract frameworks
