Customer Service Specialist – Government Benefits (Manchester)

About the role

Join Teleperformance’s new Manchester City Centre office as a Customer Service Specialist supporting a government benefits programme. You will interact with callers, helping them navigate employment status, Universal Credit claims and related queries, making a tangible difference to people facing financial hardship.

Key responsibilities

• Answer inbound calls and respond to emails, web‑chat and social media enquiries about benefit payments, claims and appointments.
• Provide accurate information in line with government guidelines and update customer records as needed.
• Assist customers with changes to personal circumstances, payment queries and new claim submissions.
• Maintain a high level of service quality while meeting performance targets in a fast‑paced environment.

Required profile

• Kind, compassionate and motivated to help vulnerable customers.
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow scripted processes.
• Availability to work full‑time (37.5 hours/week) on a Monday‑Friday schedule.
• Willingness to work onsite in Manchester City Centre.
