Cyber Security Specialist

About the role

Robert Half is partnering with a technology‑focused business in Kidlington to hire a Cyber Security Specialist. This permanent, hybrid position will be the first dedicated security role within the organisation, allowing you to shape the security strategy and build a robust security function.

Key responsibilities

• Own and improve the organisation's overall cyber security posture.
• Monitor risks, identify vulnerabilities and conduct risk and security assessments for new technologies and projects.
• Support information security compliance with UK standards, including Cyber Essentials and ISO 27001.
• Recommend, implement and optimise security tools, controls and processes.
• Work on Microsoft security projects, focusing on identity and access management improvements.
• Collaborate with technical teams to embed security across infrastructure and development.
• Deliver security awareness training and promote best practices.
• Advise stakeholders on security risks and practical mitigation solutions.

Required profile

• Solid technical background with a keen interest in governance and compliance.
• Experience in cyber security, information security, and GRC frameworks.
• Familiarity with Cyber Essentials and ISO 27001 standards.
• Ability to work across Windows Server, Azure, and Linux environments.
• Experience conducting risk assessments and managing vulnerabilities.
• Strong understanding of identity and access management concepts.

What we offer
