Data Scientist – Media (London) – up to £85k

About the role

Join one of the UK’s largest media companies as a Data Scientist, working within a team of 50 ML scientists and engineers to deliver practical, high‑impact machine‑learning solutions. You will help shape intelligent pricing, marketing, and customer‑engagement tools while deploying predictive and personalization models at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy machine‑learning models that solve real business problems.
• Evaluate and select appropriate tools, technologies, and frameworks.
• Collaborate with data‑engineering, product, and non‑technical stakeholders to drive projects from concept to production.
• Develop pricing, marketing, and customer‑engagement models for the media business.
• Ensure models are scalable and maintainable in a cloud environment.

Required profile

• Strong statistical and mathematical background with proven experience applying solutions to real‑world problems.
• Ability to identify data‑driven opportunities and optimise processes.
• Experience reviewing code and mentoring junior colleagues.
• Comfortable working with data‑engineering teams and communicating with non‑technical stakeholders.

Required skills

• At least 2 years of experience in statistics and machine learning.
• Minimum 3 years of Python programming experience.
• Proficiency with Python ML libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, and scikit‑learn.
• Experience applying models to big‑data environments.
• Familiarity with CI/CD principles.
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred, any cloud acceptable).
• Ability to translate technical concepts for non‑technical audiences.
