Design Manager

About the role

Pret is seeking a Design Manager to lead shop design and innovation across the UK and international markets. You will create high‑quality shop designs and construction documents that support new openings and refurbishments, ensuring the brand experience meets operational, cost and schedule requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and lead the end‑to‑end architectural design and shop development process.
• Establish clear communication with Property, Construction, Operations, Marketing and Creative teams.
• Maintain brand and design consistency while ensuring practicality, durability and operational standards.
• Provide design support to equity and franchise partners in the UK and abroad.
• Lead weekly design and project review meetings, prioritising schedules and objectives.
• Develop strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including international design and project teams.
• Prepare test fits, concepts, schematics and design intent packages.
• Review concept designs and monitor production of construction drawings, ensuring brand standards and budget adherence.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes and landlord criteria to secure permits and approvals.
• Maintain and communicate design guidelines and updates to the business, agencies and contractors.
