DevOps & Release Engineer – Cloud Automation (Hybrid, London)

About the role

We are partnering with an established organisation that is investing heavily in its technology platform and cloud infrastructure. As a DevOps & Release Engineer you will help drive automation, cloud adoption and best‑practice DevOps processes across a growing technology function.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain AWS‑based infrastructure and services.
• Create and support CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Promote DevOps best practices such as version control, IaC and repeatable releases.
• Support cloud‑native, micro‑services and serverless architectures.
• Manage development, testing, pre‑production and production environments.
• Automate operational tasks, system administration and monitoring.
• Track platform performance, availability, security and cost.
• Produce clear technical documentation and operational procedures.

Required profile

• Proven experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering or related roles.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical and communication skills.
• Self‑motivated, proactive and passionate about automation.

Required skills

• AWS services (EC2, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, VPC, CloudFormation).
• CI/CD tools and release automation (Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket).
• Infrastructure as Code and configuration management (CloudFormation, Ansible).
• Version control with Git and branching strategies.
• Linux administration and Docker containerisation.
• Scripting/automation using Python, Bash, YAML, JSON.
• Experience with monitoring, alerting and capacity management tools.
• Familiarity with databases (PostgreSQL, Snowflake, DynamoDB) and search/analytics (Elasticsearch, Apache Spark/EMR).
