District Nurse Specialist Practitioner (B7)

About the role

The NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a District Nurse Specialist Practitioner (B7) to join the West Dunbartonshire District Nursing Team. This permanent, full‑time position is based at Clydebank Health Centre and involves delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care in patients' homes and the community.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage a defined district nursing caseload, ensuring safe and effective care.
• Provide skilled clinical interventions and act as the clinical expert within community nursing practice.
• Coordinate workload, prioritise care needs and respond to both planned and urgent requests.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, patients and carers to plan holistic care.
• Delegate, supervise and support team members to maintain high standards of practice.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure compliance with professional and legal standards.
• Contribute to service improvement, audit, education and team development.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with current NMC registration in Adult Nursing.
• Specialist Practitioner qualification in District Nursing at Master's level or equivalent.
• V300 Independent Prescribing qualification and advanced clinical assessment skills.
• Demonstrable leadership and management experience in community or primary care.
• Evidence of continuous professional development and a full driving licence with access to a vehicle.
