Educational Psychologist (Locum)

About the role
We are partnering with local authorities across Birmingham to provide experienced Educational Psychologists for face‑to‑face locum assignments. This role focuses on delivering high‑quality, in‑person assessments that support children, families, and schools in achieving positive educational outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Undertake face‑to‑face psychological assessments in line with EHCP requirements.
- Observe children and young people within educational settings.
- Produce clear, evidence‑based written reports with practical recommendations.
- Collaborate directly with schools, SEN teams, and families to gather information and provide feedback.
- Apply psychological frameworks to understand learning, behaviour, and emotional needs.
- Manage your own caseload and meet agreed deadlines.
Required profile
- Doctorate or Master’s degree in Educational Psychology.
- HCPC registration.
- Proven experience completing statutory assessments and providing EP advice for EHCPs.
- Strong report‑writing and communication abilities.
- Ability to build rapport quickly in face‑to‑face settings.
