Electrician – Residential & Social Housing

About the role
We are seeking a skilled and qualified Electrician to join our team on Kensington Road. This field‑based position works primarily within tenanted properties, delivering maintenance, repair and installation of electrical systems to keep homes safe, compliant and ready for occupation.
Key responsibilities
- Repair and replace faulty electrical accessories such as socket outlets, light fittings, switches and extractor fans.
- Inspect, test and certify electrical installations to ensure compliance with current regulations and safety standards.
- Diagnose faults and rectify consumer units (fuse boxes).
- Install new electrical accessories and carry out first‑fix works, including full and partial rewires.
- Install additional socket outlets, cabling and associated accessories as required.
- Work independently or as part of a team to meet daily repair and completion targets.
- Communicate clearly with tenants and residents about the nature of works and expected outcomes.
- Maintain clean, safe work areas and adhere to health and safety policies, procedures and risk assessments.
- Use IT and job‑management systems to prioritize and complete workloads efficiently.
Required profile
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations (including AM2 City & Guilds 18th Edition; 17th edition acceptable to progress).
- Inspection and Testing qualification 2391 or equivalent (2394/2395).
- Full UK driving licence with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in domestic or social housing environments.

What we offer
- Competitive hourly rate of £19.01 (up to £42,012.10 per annum).
- 42.5‑hour work week (8 am‑5 pm, Monday‑Friday).
