About the role
We are seeking an experienced Electronics Manager to lead our electronics team in Abingdon, Oxford. The role combines technical leadership in PCB design, power‑supply characterisation, low‑noise amplifier selection and signal integrity with people‑management responsibilities. You will work closely with senior leaders to shape the electronics strategy for next‑generation semiconductor products.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and develop the electronics team through coaching, mentoring and regular feedback.
- Provide technical leadership to ensure high‑quality, reliable electronics design and delivery.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to evolve the company’s electronics strategy and tooling.
- Champion continuous improvement across products, processes, tools and team capability.
- Work with system architects and project leads to support successful project delivery.
- Contribute hands‑on to electronics testing and investigation when required.
- Oversee integration of electronics with mechanics, optics and controls teams.
- Lead or contribute to cross‑functional steering groups.
Required profile
- Proven experience in electronics or electrical engineering within hardware design and laboratory environments.
- Significant people‑management experience.
- Hands‑on expertise in PCB design, power‑supply characterisation, low‑noise amplifier design/selection and signal integrity.
- Strong knowledge of analogue electronics for signal capture and conditioning.
- Experience with ADC and DAC electronics for signal generation and capture.
- Understanding of power delivery and grounding best practices for sensitive equipment.
- Experience conducting and interpreting electronics testing.
- Familiarity with product lifecycle management (requirements review, design reviews, engineering change, revision management).
- Ability to work in a cross‑functional matrix organisation.
- Proficiency with PCB design and simulation tools.
