EMEA Cost Controller

About the role

The Corporate Cost Controller will oversee cost monitoring and control across the EMEA region within Investment Management. Reporting to the EMEA Finance Manager in London, the role requires a qualified ACA or CPA with a Big‑4 audit background and a drive for process efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual accounting close, ensuring timely preparation and approval of cost‑related journal entries with full IPE documentation for Direct and Indirect Private Real Estate strategies.
• Analyse and report monthly costs on statutory and functional bases, performing variance analysis to identify cost drivers, automation opportunities and savings.
• Collaborate with FP&A and other stakeholders to provide commentary on P&L cost reporting and challenge budget deviations.
• Prepare and review material balance‑sheet reconciliations using Trintech Cadency, resolve reconciling items and document compliance with CBRE’s SOX controls.
• Oversee the Shared Service Centre to ensure accurate invoicing, expense processing and cash management.
• Liaise with the Global Finance Team to address accounting queries and support audit‑driven financial statement preparation.
• Manage accruals, pre‑payments and cash‑book postings, and act as the primary contact for treasury‑related queries.
• Monitor monthly FX exposure and provide insight on key drivers.
• Continuously improve processes, strengthen internal controls and champion technology enhancements.

Required profile

• Qualified ACA or CPA accountant.
• 5+ years of professional experience, preferably with a Big‑4 audit background.
• Experience in a US‑based multinational financial services environment, ideally within a global matrix structure.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SOX compliance.
