About the role
Join a respected independent accountancy and business advisory practice as an Employment Tax Director. Lead a growing tax advisory team, delivering complex employment tax advice to family‑owned and owner‑managed businesses across the region. The role combines client‑facing work with strategic development of the service line.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver complex, high‑quality Employment Tax advice to a varied portfolio of clients.
- Manage HMRC enquiries and respond to compliance investigations.
- Handle employment status, IR35 and National Minimum Wage matters.
- Address CIS‑related issues and support wider tax projects such as due diligence, CCO and SAO reviews.
- Maintain and grow client relationships while supporting business development.
- Shape the strategic direction of the Employment Tax service line.
- Build relationships with external stakeholders including HMRC, legal advisers and industry bodies.
Required profile
- Strong technical expertise in Employment Tax.
- Significant senior‑level experience within a professional practice environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and problem‑solving ability.
- Experience mentoring and developing junior team members.
- Collaborative leadership style with confidence to influence service direction.
