English Teacher (QTS) – Secondary Schools

About the role
Prospero Teaching is seeking qualified English teachers for secondary schools across the Midlands. You will deliver the English curriculum to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 pupils, with occasional opportunities to teach Key Stage 5. The role can be supply, long‑term placement or a permanent position, matching your experience and career goals.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, deliver and assess engaging English lessons for KS3‑KS4 (and occasionally KS5) students.
- Maintain effective classroom discipline and behaviour management.
- Prepare teaching resources and mark student work in line with school policies.
- Contribute to departmental meetings and school-wide initiatives.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in England or Wales.
- Experience teaching English in UK secondary schools.
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
- Legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
