Factory Manager – Production & Warehouse Lead

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Factory Manager to lead production, warehouse and hygiene operations at a leading manufacturing site in Gateshead. Reporting to the General Manager, you will ensure the plant meets health, safety, food safety and sustainability standards while delivering on production targets.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee day‑shift and night‑shift production, warehouse and hygiene activities.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety, food safety, environmental and sustainability policies.
• Utilise the ERP system to maximise efficiency and track production data.
• Deliver production plans on time, in full and to quality specifications.
• Drive continuous improvement in efficiency, yield and waste reduction.
• Recruit, train and develop production, warehouse and hygiene teams.
• Collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Technical, NPD, H&S and HR departments.
• Lead staff engagement and uphold company values.
• Manage crisis situations effectively.

Required profile

• Proven managerial experience in Food, Drink or FMCG manufacturing.
• Relevant technical qualifications (Degree, HND, etc.) are desirable.
• Strong leadership and people‑management abilities.
• Track record of improving processes, productivity and performance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of health & safety and regulatory compliance.
