About the role
Dexory is seeking a detail‑oriented Finance Assistant to join its finance team in Wallingford. This entry‑level position offers recent graduates or career starters the chance to gain hands‑on experience across a wide range of accounting and finance functions in a fast‑moving, technology‑driven environment.
Key responsibilities
- Process accounts‑payable invoices, ensuring accurate coding and timely approvals.
- Perform bank and credit‑card reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
- Post day‑to‑day bookkeeping entries and maintain records in the accounting system.
- Execute payment runs for suppliers and vendors.
- Support month‑end and year‑end close activities, including journal entries and accruals.
- Maintain and reconcile balance‑sheet accounts regularly.
- Assist in preparing management accounts, financial reports, VAT returns and other statutory filings.
- Liaise with internal teams and external vendors to resolve billing or payment queries.
- Provide documentation for audits and contribute to finance process‑improvement initiatives.
Required profile
- Recent graduate or career starter with a degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
- Strong numerical aptitude, high attention to detail and good organisational skills.
- Proactive attitude, willingness to learn and ability to manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative team approach.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets.
- Experience with accounting software (any platform).
- Familiarity with Large Language Models (AI) tools.
