Finance Business Analyst – £450/day (IR35)

About the role

We are supporting a large UK organisation undergoing a finance data and reporting transformation. As a Finance Business Analyst you will gather, analyse and refine requirements for finance reporting and accounting data solutions, working closely with finance stakeholders and a cross‑functional delivery team.

Key responsibilities

• Gather, analyse and document business requirements across finance and accounting functions.
• Define reporting, dashboard and data requirements with stakeholders.
• Translate business needs into clear, actionable specifications for technical teams.
• Challenge existing processes and identify opportunities to improve reporting and data usage.
• Facilitate workshops and stakeholder discussions to capture priorities.
• Collaborate with developers, testers and product teams to support solution delivery.
• Support backlog refinement, prioritisation and business readiness activities.
• Assist with solution validation, demonstrations and user‑acceptance testing.

Required profile

• Qualified Accountant with proven business analysis experience in finance or finance transformation environments.
• Strong understanding of accounting processes and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience gathering requirements for reporting, analytics or data‑led solutions.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery environments.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills.

Required skills

• Tableau (or similar visualisation tool).
• Power BI (or similar visualisation tool).
• Agile methodology.

What we offer

• Inside IR35 contract rate of £450 per day (umbrella, negotiable for the right skills).
• Hybrid working – two days per week in the Leeds office.
