Finance Director – Commercial Leadership Role

About the role

Harper May Ltd is seeking a Finance Director to join its executive team in London. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will own finance, tax and treasury functions, driving financial discipline while supporting commercial growth across a fast‑expanding consumer non‑durables business.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a three‑year financial plan aligned with growth targets and board expectations.
• Own monthly and quarterly reporting, variance analysis and forecasting.
• Lead working‑capital optimisation, cash‑flow management and inventory control.
• Partner with operations, sales and supply‑chain leaders to identify cost‑saving and efficiency initiatives.
• Establish robust financial controls, systems infrastructure and governance frameworks.
• Manage tax, audit and regulatory compliance.
• Build and lead a growing finance team.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
• 8+ years in senior finance roles, preferably within manufacturing, supply‑chain or product‑led businesses.
• Proven track record in cost management, process improvement and operational efficiency.
• Ability to work hands‑on while maintaining a strategic outlook.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence without direct authority.
