Finance Officer – Accounts Payable (London)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Officer to manage accounts payable and funding payments for schools. The role involves processing payments, reconciling accounts and liaising with schools and internal teams in London.

Key responsibilities

• Process funding and supplier payments accurately and within agreed timescales.
• Reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate financial records and payment schedules.
• Communicate with schools regarding payments, queries and financial information.
• Update and maintain SAP records and related financial data.
• Support reporting and administrative finance tasks as required.
• Ensure compliance with financial procedures and audit requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a finance or accounts payable role within a local authority or school setting.
• At least 1 year of experience using SAP.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas and data management.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills and ability to build positive working relationships.
• Ability to manage workloads and prioritise tasks effectively.
