Financial Accountant – Sports

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Financial Accountant to join a fast‑growing Sports & Media agency’s UK & EMEA Controllership team. Reporting to the Finance VP, you will be responsible for accurate financial reporting across multiple entities and will help shape the finance function as it expands internationally.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare multicurrency consolidated trial balances under UK GAAP, including eliminations and equity reconciliations for statutory audit.
• Coordinate the preparation of financial statements with external advisors.
• Execute monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding items promptly.
• Review and approve bank postings and journals prepared by the Finance Assistant.
• Post month‑end journals such as pre‑payments, accruals and other adjustments for UK and EMEA operations.
• Support expense and supplier purchase documentation to maintain strong financial controls.
• Assist the finance team during the transition between finance systems.

Required profile

• ACA or ACCA qualified accountant with solid technical accounting knowledge.
• Proven experience consolidating trial balances and preparing audit‑ready financial information.
• Ability to understand the impact of transactions on P&L and balance sheet.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑partnering skills.
• Positive, energetic attitude and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, growing environment.
