Financial Controller

About the role

This senior finance position reports directly to the Managing Director and sits on the Senior Leadership Team of an acquisitive manufacturing business in South Bristol. You will lead the finance function, shape financial strategy and support the company’s growth plans.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present financial reports and regular cash‑flow forecasts.
• Lead, develop and manage the finance team.
• Oversee month‑end close, ensuring robust internal controls.
• Produce annual budgets and monthly forecasts.
• Handle statutory reporting and support the year‑end audit process.
• Manage cash, inventory, stock and asset accounting.
• Lead key projects and contribute to the 3‑year business plan implementation.

Required profile

• Qualified Accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
• Proven experience leading a small finance team.
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to senior and non‑finance stakeholders.
• Hands‑on approach to financial management with a focus on performance and strategy.
• Willingness to work on‑site four days a week with occasional travel.
