Fitness to Practise Lawyer – Regulatory & Litigation

About the role

Our client, a respected health and regulatory organisation, is seeking a qualified Solicitor or Barrister to join its Legal and Regulatory Affairs team. The role involves managing complex investigations and prosecutions within a highly regulated environment, offering a blend of advocacy, case management and stakeholder engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of complex regulatory and disciplinary matters from investigation through to conclusion.
• Draft high‑quality legal correspondence, witness statements and written submissions.
• Advise internal stakeholders on investigations, evidence gathering and regulatory procedures.
• Represent the organisation at tribunal hearings and disciplinary proceedings.
• Liaise with external counsel, governing bodies and other key stakeholders.
• Support wider legal matters including contractual and non‑contentious advisory work.
• Ensure matters progress efficiently in line with regulatory rules and deadlines.
• Provide clear, practical legal advice to senior stakeholders.

Required profile

• Qualified Solicitor or Barrister with a current practising certificate.
• Minimum three years’ post‑qualification experience or equivalent regulatory legal experience.
• Strong advocacy experience across tribunals or disciplinary hearings.
• Experience managing litigation or regulatory investigations.
• Excellent drafting and written communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters professionally.
• Strong stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
• Interest in health, governance or regulatory environments (advantageous).
