Fractional Finance Director (Part‑time, 2 days/week)

About the role

Chalk Hill Group is supporting an established distribution business near Gatwick and seeks an experienced Fractional Finance Director on a 3–6 month contract. This hands‑on, senior finance leadership role is ideal for a Finance Director or strong Financial Controller who enjoys detailed work and making a tangible impact while working around two days per week on site.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver financial reporting and management information.
• Strengthen financial controls and processes.
• Forecast and manage cash flow.
• Identify and implement process improvements.
• Support the wider finance function and drive efficiency.
• Mentor and develop a junior member of the finance team.
• Provide hands‑on financial leadership and support to the business.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Finance Director, Financial Controller or similar senior finance role.
• Comfortable operating in a hands‑on, SME environment.
• Background in the distribution or logistics sector.
• Strong technical expertise in reporting, controls and cash‑flow management.
• Practical, solutions‑focused with a track record of improving processes.
• Confident in mentoring and supporting junior finance staff.
• Available to work on‑site around two days per week near Gatwick.
