General Assistant – Care Home Support

About the role

This is a zero‑hours bank contract role supporting a Barchester care home. You will help create a warm, homely environment for residents by undertaking a variety of tasks across housekeeping, cleaning, laundry and catering.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily housekeeping and cleaning duties to maintain a safe, tidy environment.
• Manage laundry services for residents and staff.
• Assist with meal preparation and catering duties.
• Provide friendly, compassionate support to residents, fostering positive relationships.
• Help fill staffing gaps caused by annual leave, sickness or rota shortages.
