General Assistant – Care Home Support

About the role
This is a zero‑hours bank contract role supporting a Barchester care home. You will help create a warm, homely environment for residents by undertaking a variety of tasks across housekeeping, cleaning, laundry and catering.
Key responsibilities
- Perform daily housekeeping and cleaning duties to maintain a safe, tidy environment.
- Manage laundry services for residents and staff.
- Assist with meal preparation and catering duties.
- Provide friendly, compassionate support to residents, fostering positive relationships.
- Help fill staffing gaps caused by annual leave, sickness or rota shortages.
Required profile
- Reliable, compassionate and caring attitude.
- Practical and willing to undertake a variety of tasks.
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing daily needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with residents.
