Graduate Behaviour Support Assistant – SEN/SEMH (Bristol)

About the role
We are seeking recent graduates to join specialist SEN and SEMH schools in Bristol as Behaviour Support Assistants. This full‑time, term‑time only position offers hands‑on experience supporting pupils with additional needs while providing structured training and clear progression pathways.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to pupils with SEMH, autism, ADHD or other communication differences.
- Implement behaviour strategies and help students develop emotional regulation.
- Build positive, consistent relationships to encourage engagement with learning and daily routines.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, pastoral teams and dedicated behaviour specialists.
- Contribute to a safe, structured and supportive classroom environment.
Required profile
- Recent graduate (degrees in Psychology, Education, Criminology or related fields are preferred).
- Experience supporting young people through tutoring, mentoring, coaching or care work.
- Interest in behaviour, mental health or special educational needs.
- Resilient, patient and motivated to make a difference.
- Previous school experience is beneficial but not essential.
