Graduate Software Engineer – Air Systems

About the role

As a Graduate Software Engineer you will create cutting‑edge software for BAE Systems' air platforms, taking part in the full product lifecycle from concept through design, development, delivery and in‑service maintenance. You will work on highly complex, real‑time, safety‑critical and mission‑critical software for aircraft such as Typhoon, F‑35 and Tempest.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and review system requirements, producing high‑level and low‑level software designs.
• Implement software, including updating existing code, developing new modules and merging updates into baseline releases.
• Conduct unit and integration testing (white‑box) and hardware/software qualification testing (black‑box).
• Support software certification activities, preparing documentation, investigating defects and delivering resolutions.

Required profile

• Recent graduate with a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
• Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and adhere to security and export‑control requirements.
• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail for safety‑critical development.
