Group Finance Manager – £50‑55K – Berkshire

About the role

The investment group is seeking a Group Finance Manager to lead the financial consolidation, budgeting and reporting for two FMCG/retail entities. Reporting to the CFO and supported by an accounts administrator, you will be the primary contact for all accounting matters.

Key responsibilities

• Consolidate accounts, budgets and management reports for two FMCG/retail businesses.
• Prepare monthly management information covering finance, sales and KPI performance.
• Manage all accounts payable and receivable processes, including expense and invoice processing, payment runs, petty cash, credit control, sales and invoice financing.
• Ensure compliance with HMRC statutory requirements (VAT, PAYE, P11Ds, annual accounts).
• Monitor bank deposits and payments, and improve month‑end processes (bank and balance‑sheet reconciliations).
• Handle quarterly VAT returns and monthly payroll in liaison with an external provider.
• Support the preparation of statutory accounts.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an SME Finance Manager, comfortable with shifting daily priorities.
• Familiarity with inventory management, preferably within a retail or wholesale environment.
• Understanding of small‑business dynamics and the ability to work independently.
• Eligibility to work in the UK without restriction.
