Head of Compliance, Europe

About the role

As the Head of Compliance, Europe you will lead the compliance function in Europe for a global alternative investment platform that advises on real estate, infrastructure and private credit assets. Working closely with relevant stakeholders you will provide practical advice to support the business while maintaining high standards of regulatory compliance and ethical conduct.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the FCA‑approved Senior Manager for SMF16 and/or SMF17, discharging responsibilities under the FCA Senior Managers and Certification Regime.
• Lead and manage the UK‑based investment compliance team and oversee UK investment advisers.
• Oversee compliance with UK MiFID and UK AIFMD frameworks for advisory, portfolio management and AIFM activities.
• Monitor regulatory developments, assess impact and update compliance policies, procedures and controls.
• Develop and maintain the Compliance Manual and related policies, and support new product launches, fund launches and acquisitions.

Required profile

• Extensive compliance experience within an FCA‑regulated asset manager, investment adviser or alternative investment manager.
• Proven experience leading and developing a compliance team.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Experience interacting with the FCA and handling regulatory reporting, examinations or supervisory engagements.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of the FCA Handbook and UK regulatory requirements, including MiFID and AIFMD.
• Ability to provide practical, risk‑based advice on regulatory interpretation and implementation.
