Head of Finance

About the role

The Head of Finance will lead the finance function, reporting to the Managing Director and sitting on the executive team. You will own financial strategy, planning and control, shaping investment priorities and cash deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Own financial strategy, planning and control across the business.
• Build annual budgets and rolling forecasts reflecting market dynamics and supply‑chain volatility.
• Design and deliver monthly management accounts with commercial commentary and variance analysis.
• Partner with operations, procurement and commercial teams to model margin scenarios and optimise costs.
• Manage working capital, inventory turnover and cash conversion in a seasonal, inventory‑heavy environment.
• Support M&A and product line evaluation through deal modelling and integration planning.
• Establish financial controls and compliance frameworks appropriate to the business stage.
• Recruit, develop and mentor a growing finance team.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
• 7+ years in senior finance roles, preferably in consumer goods, retail or manufacturing.
• Proven ability to translate financial data into commercial insight and influence without authority.
• Comfortable working in an ambiguous, fast‑moving growth environment.
• Strong people leadership and stakeholder management across functions.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Experience with ERP/financial systems.
