Head of Financial Reporting – Global Energy Group

About the role

This senior position leads the global financial reporting function for a dual‑listed energy group. The role reports to executive leadership and works closely with the Board, investors, auditors and external advisors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Group’s external financial reporting, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of all statutory filings.
• Own technical accounting matters, including US GAAP interpretation, accounting policy development and implementation.
• Oversee preparation and review of annual and quarterly SEC filings and other regulatory reports.
• Prepare technical accounting papers for complex transactions such as acquisitions, financing arrangements and strategic projects.
• Serve as primary liaison for external auditors and technical accounting advisors.
• Partner with senior leadership on corporate transactions, new accounting standards and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Support investor‑relations and Board reporting activities as required.
• Build, mentor and develop a high‑performing financial reporting team.

Required profile

• Fully qualified ACA, CPA or equivalent.
• Big 4 training with significant post‑qualification experience in financial reporting, technical accounting or advisory.
• Deep expertise in US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
• Proven experience leading reporting for a listed, dual‑listed or large multinational organisation.
• Strong understanding of complex accounting matters such as financing arrangements, acquisitions and capital‑market transactions.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare technical accounting papers and advise senior stakeholders.
• Effective leadership and team‑development skills.
