Health Visitor – Children’s Services (Inverclyde)

About the role

The NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking an enthusiastic Health Visitor to join the Inverclyde Children & Families Health Visiting Team. You will deliver a high‑quality community health visiting service aligned with the GIRFEC framework, managing a caseload of children and families and working closely with multi‑agency partners.

Key responsibilities

• Provide a safe, effective health visiting service in the community.
• Manage and supervise a defined caseload, ensuring robust assessments and appropriate referrals.
• Use evidence‑based practice to address identified needs and support early intervention.
• Collaborate with partner agencies, applying in‑depth knowledge of child protection and GIRFEC.
• Lead discussions in complex situations and contribute to policy and service improvement.
• Maintain ongoing professional development and adhere to legislation on information sharing and data protection.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse or Midwife (degree level) with NMC Part 3 registration.
• Post‑registration qualification in Health Visiting or Public Health Nursing.
• Master’s level education or equivalent knowledge (e.g., NES modules).
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, early intervention, and protection pathways.
• Commitment to continuous learning and development.
