HGV Technician

About the role

We are seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join the Transport Department at our Manchester depot. You will be responsible for keeping our Müller Milk & Ingredients distribution fleet safe, efficient and road‑ready. The role offers a permanent, full‑time position with competitive pay and premium rates for overtime and unsocial hours.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and repair HGVs across the fleet.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT tests and arrange transport to testing centres.
• Record defects and maintain accurate service logs.
• Diagnose faults and carry out efficient repairs.
• Perform minor accident repairs.
• Adopt a safety‑first mindset in all tasks.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organisational skills and the capacity to prioritise a busy workload.
• City & Guilds Level 2 & 3, BTEC or IMI qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
• Commercial experience with HGVs; Class C+E licence desirable but not essential.
