HGV Technician – Night Shift (4 on 4 off)

About the role

Scania is seeking an HGV Technician to join its Normanton workshop on a night‑shift roster (4 days on, 4 days off, 18:00‑06:00). You will work on some of the most respected heavy commercial vehicles in the industry, with health and safety at the core of daily activities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform servicing, maintenance and repairs on Scania heavy‑goods vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using workshop tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Adhere to strict health and safety procedures throughout all tasks.
• Maintain accurate service records and complete required paperwork.
• Participate in in‑house training programmes to develop technical expertise.

Required profile

• Relevant qualifications or proven experience in HGV, LCV, automotive or related sectors.
• Willingness to work the night‑shift pattern (4 on / 4 off).
• Commitment to safety and quality standards.
• Motivation to progress within the heavy‑vehicle industry.

Required skills

• Mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
• Vehicle diagnostics and fault identification.
• Proficiency with workshop tools and equipment.
• Understanding of heavy‑vehicle systems (engine, transmission, brakes, etc.).
