Highways Supervisor

About the role

The Schemes Supervisor will support the Construction Manager in delivering highway improvement projects. The role ensures that schemes are completed on schedule, within budget, and meet all regulatory and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement detailed project plans, including resource allocation, risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
• Monitor project schedules and coordinate with contractors, clients and stakeholders to maintain timelines.
• Maintain accurate daily site records such as photos, equipment usage and labour resources.
• Assist in resolving site and construction issues and communicate changes to Scheme Engineers, Designers and Quantity Surveyors.
• Conduct daily inspections of traffic management layouts and address any identified issues promptly.

Required profile

• Strong background in highway engineering with a proven track record of managing complex schemes.
• Excellent organisational ability to coordinate multiple contractors simultaneously.
• Clear communication skills for reporting to the Construction Manager and other stakeholders.
• Valid UK driver’s licence.
