Housing Officer – Temporary, London

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Housing Officer to join a large Housing Association on a temporary, full‑time basis. Based in South West London, you will provide a personalised, empathetic service to residents, helping them maintain tenancies and enjoy their homes.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver an excellent housing management service through regular communication and home visits.
• Resolve resident issues promptly and keep promises within agreed timescales.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and work with external statutory authorities to keep residents safe.
• Manage tenancies, address unacceptable behaviour constructively, and support residents to sustain their tenancies.
• Prepare void properties for re‑letting, specifying work orders and adhering to lettings procedures.
• Identify support needs and coordinate with partners to assist tenants at the start of their tenancy.
• Authorise work orders within budget and collaborate with Asset Management to resolve complex repairs.
• Accurately account for services, ensuring transparent and fair service charges.
• Collect income, manage debt, and maintain an effective audit trail.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Housing Officer is preferred.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
